Julia Klee (AKA Judi) is owner of HandMadeInIowa.com. She is a lifelong advocate of hand crafting whatever she can, whenever she can. She started sewing for people when she was in grade school and kept on sewing and crafting from there. She also loves cooking, baking and music. Eventually she earned a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, specializing in Food and Nutrition.
Judi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer
Sciences, Food and Nutrition, from Fort Valley State University,
Ft. Valley, Georgia, and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition
from the Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical
School, N. Chicago, Illinois (now the Rosalind Franklin University
of Medicine and Science).
After establishing her business selling pizzelle cookies at local craft shows, Judi further expanded by investing in an embroidery
machine and serger. A line of home decor items and various gifts
for family and friends was added to the line!
Most recently, Judi owned The Spice Rack, a kitchen
supply store, bakery and bisro in Cherokee, Iowa, and an online business selling homemade Italian pizzelle cookies.
In addition to running the store and websites, Judi has also served as an adjunct
instructor of nutrition and related courses at local colleges.
Beside selling handmade craft items, Judi and her husband David also have had a music ministry encouraging others to use their God-given talents. Judi now divides her time between music and crafting, and selling her handmade table quilts and other items online.
